Events Center Update

January 10, 2011, 7:45 PM by Ben Dunsmoor

Events Center Update
SIOUX FALLS, SD - During his monthly events center update, Mayor Mike Huether said they're about eleven days behind in signing some of the contracts.

He also said there may also be some additional costs to travel to similar facilities and for legal fees.

"On the additional expenses could include and go over and above the $500,000.  The mechanism that would be required to get additional funds, what is that?" Council member Greg Jamison asked the mayor.

"I have said time and time again that if we need additional funds on this particular project that we couldn't do that alone. We would have to come to the good folks of the city council and ask for additional funds," Huether said.

The city hopes to have the construction manager for the project picked by the end of the month.
