Events Center Naming Study To Get First Reading
April 11, 2011, 5:42 AM
SIOUX FALLS, SD -
The Sioux Falls City Council will take up Mayor Mike Huether's request to spend $65,000 on a study to see how much naming rights for an events center are worth at Monday night's meeting.
The mayor is asking the council to approve the funding to hire a Cleveland, Ohio consulting firm to study the issue.
The firm would lay out how much local companies would be willing to pay for naming rights on, not only the events center, but also existing facilities such as the Sioux Falls Arena, Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum and the Washington Pavilion.
The council will consider the request for the extra money during its first reading and likely vote on the issue next Monday.
