SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Following several years of discussion and debate, the people of Sioux Falls have voted on whether the city should build an events center.
Tuesday, voters cast ballots for or against the proposed $115 million facility. Many of the 57 polling locations had lines of people waiting to vote before they even opened at 7 a.m. As of Tuesday afternoon, the absentee ballot numbers reached an all-time record at about 5,500.
KELOLAND News has a crew stationed at the Minnehaha County auditor's office where the votes are being counted. We're also with groups for and against the plan.
Look for results as they are released on KELO-TV and KELOLAND.com. And tune into KELOLAND News at 10, when we'll bring you updated vote numbers and have reaction from both sides of the issue.
