Three families are back in their homes after a being evacuated Tuesday night for a forest fire.
It began as a five-acre fire Tuesday night one mile west of Rapid City town and had grown to 15 and 20 acres by Wednesday morning.
Fire crews are now working to contain it but they made enough progress to lift the evacuation order by midnight. The Red Cross has set up a shelter in case more evacuations are needed.
No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
