Escapee Spotted In Omaha Area

August 7, 2012, 7:43 PM by Darcy Andersen

Escapee Spotted In Omaha Area
Oscar Herrara-Menjivar

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A fugitive on the run since mid-July may have made his way back to the Omaha, Nebraska area.

Oscar Herrara-Menjivar escaped custody near the Spencer exit along Interstate 90 in mid-July.  He was spotted a few days later near Dolton, South Dakota.  Law enforcement executed a multi-agency search but that came up empty handed.

Now information from the Bellevue, Nebraska, Police Department says Herrara-Menjivar was seen in Omaha late Sunday night, asking for food, water and a phone to make some calls.

Menjivar was also said to look dehydrated as if he hasn't had access to food or water for some time.

An informant indicates he possibly caught a ride on a freight train back to the Omaha area.
