SIOUX FALLS, SD -
The man behind a push to build a new Events Center in downtown is questioning whether a city council member has a conflict of interest in deciding where the new facility should be built.
Steve Hildebrand with Build It Downtown has filed a complaint with the Sioux Falls Ethics Board concerning council member Jim Entenman.
Entenman owns land within blocks of where the Events Center would be if it's built near the Arena. When
KELOLAND News asked Entenman about the issue last month, he said it's not a conflict of interest because he has no plans to sell the land.
During the council's 4 p.m. informational meeting, Entenman read a statement about Hildebrand's claim. He again emphasized that the land his family owns is not for sale. He says he's looking forward to the Ethics Board's ruling.
