Early Morning House Fire Damages Garage

Sioux Falls firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in southeast Sioux Falls Saturday.

The fire was reported burning in an attached garage around 4:30 a.m. on South Wayland Avenue, just a couple blocks south of East 26th Street.

Crews contained the fire within 15 minutes, but there’s extensive fire and smoke damage to the garage.

There were people inside the house at the time, but they all got out safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
