Duraflame Heaters Recalled Due To Fire Hazard

March 5, 2014, 3:30 PM by Angela Kennecke

Duraflame Heaters Recalled Due To Fire Hazard
NEW YORK -

If you have a heater that looks like a fireplace, it may be part of a recall. Twin-Star is recalling thousands of space heaters because they can overheat and catch fire.

Twin-Star has received 32 reports of heaters burning or melting, including eight reports of the units catching fire, one of which resulted in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

The Duraflame heaters in question sold for $60 and came in three colors. They're a little more than a foot tall, and the flame resembles a fireplace.

If you have one, you should unplug it and contact the company for a refund.

Call Twin-Star toll-free at (855) 884-9651 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online at www.twinstarhome.com and click on “Product Recall” in red at the bottom of the page under the Support column for more information.
