DUIs Are Down, Drug Arrests Up At Sturgis
STURGIS, SD -

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally saw fewer DUIs but more felony drug arrests in its first weekend.

As of 6 a.m. Sunday, Sturgis and Rapid City had 33 DUI arrests -- 12 fewer than the same time last year. Felony drug arrests climbed from three in 2013 to 11 this year. Misdemeanor drug arrests slid from 39 to 28 in 2014.

No fatalities have been recorded so far, while one was reported by this point in 2013. The total number of warnings issued are up by 60 from last year, but citations are down.
