Drunk Driver Hits, Kills De Smet Teenager

A De Smet teenager is dead and another person injured after being hit by a drunk driver late Friday evening.
Authorities say just before 10 p.m., a Chevy pickup failed to stop at a stop sign at 1st Street and Calumet Avenue and hit the two individuals.
Officials arrested 28-year-old James Harris of Anoka, Minnesota and charged him with DUI, hit and run and vehicular homicide. Harris is being held without bond in Beadle County Jail and will appear in court in De Smet on Monday.
South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
