Drugs, guns, money; and lots of all of them. A Sioux Falls couple faces several felonies following a big bust at their westside home.
Michael and Rachael Moyer face possession, manufacturing and distribution charges, following their arrests.
Drug investigators had been keeping their eyes on Michael Moyer since late June following a tip that he was dealing.
Officers pulled Moyer over at 47th and Sertoma during a traffic stop Wednesday.
They found pot, a small amount of cocaine and $1,200 in his car. And that was just for starters.
The haul included six pounds of marijuana, a two-pound brick of hash, $13,000 in cash and seven guns. Police say the marijuana alone has a street value of $18,000. The hash has an even higher street value.
"This is probably the largest amount of hash that we've seen in several years," Sam Clemens of the Sioux Falls Police Dept. said.
Police seized most of the items from Michael and Rachael Moyer's home on South Kingswood Way.
"To tell you the truth, I always thought they were in computers, IT, something like that," neighbor Mike Meendering said.
While neighbors describe the Moyers as "a nice couple," they say they've had their suspicions all along that something illegal was taking place here.
"I've seen a lot of traffic come and go there, a lot of cars I didn't recognize. I can see the upgrade of their own vehicles over the years with what they started driving and what they're driving now. They've got that BMW and the Audi," Meendering said.
Mike Meendering's suspicions have been confirmed with two drug arrests in his normally quiet westside neighborhood.
"I suspect a little bit of dealing, but nothing on this scale," Meendering said.
The judge set bond for both Michael and Rachael Moyer at $30,000.
