Drug Bust Closes Worthington Restaurant Temporarily

May 2, 2012, 4:47 PM by Perry Groten

Five people are facing charges following a drug bust that led authorities to a southwest Minnesota fast-food restaurant.

The KFC in Worthington was temporarily shut down beginning Wednesday morning while members of the Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force searched the restaurant as part of their investigation.

Authorities tell us they didn't seize any evidence at the KFC, but an assistant manager of the restaurant is under arrest along with four other people, including another KFC employee.

Drug task force members executed three search warrants on Wednesday.  Investigators say all of the suspects were taken into custody at a residence in Worthington.

They say the drugs involved a small amount of cocaine and marijuana.
