Drought, Heat Impacts Summer Agri-Tourism

Fall is finally here, but it was a long, hot, extremely dry summer.  And crops weren't the only thing that took a beating from Mother Nature.

When it's 100 plus degrees outside, people tend to flock indoors to get relief from the heat. And that combined with several other factors has stunted much of the so-called agri-tourism.

Spring freezes killed much of the apple crop in the Midwest and many corn mazes never got tall enough.

Fortunately, fall is the peak season for many in the agri-tourism industry and many people are seeing one of the best pumpkin crops they've had in years.
