Downtown Block Party On Friday

Downtown Sioux Falls' east bank is hosting its second block party of the summer Friday starting at 6 p.m.

The Downtown Block Parties on the Eastbank series features live music, food and free kids' activities. All events are centered around the 8th & Railroad Center, 401 E 8th St., from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is free.

For more information, visit the Downtown Sioux Falls website.

Better Ride

Better Ride kicks off the event with pre-show entertainment at 5:45 p.m. The group started as a writing project designed to include people with developmental disabilities. When it formed in 2010, the project was intended to run for a month. But after writing stories, and producing and filming a screenplay, the group started writing songs. In their first three years, the group has performed more than 150 shows across South Dakota.

The Copoetics

The Copoetics feature Louisa on a five-string ukulele and Dan on a six-string guitar. The folk outfit blends its acoustic strings with Louisa's vocals.

Cole Allen Band

Headliners, the Cole Allen Band, blends blues with rock and a dynamic stage presence. The Minneapolis-based band features front man Cole Allen on guitar, Craig Williams on bass and Paul Peterson on drums.
