The South Dakota Department of Transportation is warning that a winter storm will make travel conditions very difficult starting Saturday night and lasting through Monday morning.
If you do have to drive this weekend, do so during the daytime and always wear your seat belt.
Drive with your headlights on and use highly-traveled roads and highways.
Keep family and friends informed about your travel schedule and route.
Plus, keep a winter survival kit in your car that includes blankets, warm clothing, water, energy bars and a flashlight.
And be sure to have a fully-charged cell phone, but officials say don't rely upon it to get you out of a bad situation.
