She was discovered on the living room floor with a deep laceration across her neck and in a pool of her own blood. That’s how a witness describes Brenda Hansen’s body in newly filed court documents.
The 53-year-old murder victim died from those injuries in her southwest Sioux Falls home last week. A Massachusetts man living in Sioux Falls, 41-year-old John Senn, has been charged with her murder.
A search warrant and affidavit filed this week says a woman stopped by Hansen’s Misty Glenn Place home last Wednesday to visit one of Hansen’s roommates. The witness saw Senn walking into the home and when she walked in the back door, she heard screaming coming from the living room. Court documents say she saw Senn wipe the kitchen counters with a cloth and then leave the house, leaving Hansen on the couch.
Police haven’t revealed any clear motive in the case but investigators say Senn was discovered with some of Hansen’s prescription Oxycontin pills. Police also say Senn and Hansen knew each other.
Several items were taken from Senn’s home including clothing with blood and a ‘snort tube with white residue’ from Senn’s wallet.
We’ll have more details on what was discovered in Senn’s home and details of the homicide later today on KELOLAND News and KELOLAND.com.
