REDFIELD, SD -
A Spink County deputy sheriff is credited with rescuing a man whose vehicle went off Highway 212 east of Redfield and into water in the north ditch.
A release from the sheriff's office said 77-year-old Millard Roe of Watertown called 911 around 6 a.m. Friday to say he couldn't get out of the vehicle and water was coming inside. Deputy Andrew Rindelaub responded, went into the water and got Roe out.
Roe was treated at a hospital for exposure. Rindelaub was checked at the hospital for hypothermia and released.
