The two Democrats running for South Dakota governor plan to meet next week in a live debate that will be televised statewide.
South Dakota Public Broadcasting will carry the exchange between former head of the state wildfire agency Joe Lowe and state Rep. Susan Wismer, of Britton.
The hour-long program from Vermillion starts at 8 p.m. Central time on Thursday and will be carried live on TV and online. Public radio will re-air it the following Monday at noon.
Former state Rep. Lora Hubbel is challenging Gov. Dennis Daugaard in the Republican primary. And former University of South Dakota professor Mike Myers is running as an independent.
The primary is June 3.
