It was yet another above average day in KELOLAND, but this may have been it. Much colder air will move through the Upper Plains this weekend and this type of pattern will continue through the rest of December.
The warm air bubble over the Upper Plains will be leaving over the next couple of days. Temperatures will continue a steady decrease as we go into the weekend. The core of the cold should be over KELOLAND on Monday with highs in the teens and 20s in eastern South Dakota.
These hits of cold air will become more common over the next couple of weeks.
While we will have temperature swings from time to time, I think highs in the 50s and 60s will be a thing of the past. After all, the latest Sioux Falls has hit 60 degrees is December 18.
