An injury crash just east of Interstate 229 and 10th Street is forcing police to divert traffic.
It happened just before 7 p.m. Tuesday at 10th Street and Chapel Hill Road, which is near the HyVee store on East 10th Street.
Police say a vehicle was attempting to make a left turn when it was hit by an SUV. One person died. Four others were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police closed the west and eastbound lanes for several hours as they reconstructed the accident. Vehicles are traveling north or south on Cleveland Avenue during this time.
