A state Division of Criminal Investigation agent testifying at the trial of a Fort Pierre man charged with attempted murder says that while a shotgun may not have been pointed directly at the victim, it was pointed near her.
Chad Mosteller was one of several law enforcement agents to testify Wednesday during the first day of the trial for Derek Boe of Fort Pierre. Boe is accused of shooting out the window of a vehicle occupied by a 24-year-old Pierre woman on a Hughes County road in January, narrowly missing the woman with the shotgun blast.
Mosteller said investigators believe Boe and victim were the only two people at the scene when the shotgun was fired.
The trial is expected to last the rest of the week.
