Daugaard: Janklow One Of Best In His Field
January 17, 2012, 4:52 PM
PIERRE, SD -
Governor Dennis Daugaard was one of several people to speak at Tuesday's memorial service for Bill Janklow.
He says the day is not just about remembering Janklow, but it's also about celebrating his accomplishments. He says it's doubtful another state leader will be able to match Janklow's contributions to the state.
"He helped us believe, even though South Dakota is a small state and we have a small population and rural, we still have a lot of talent here; a lot of ability. We can do more than we think we can and Bill helped us see that," Daugaard said.
Daugaard says Janklow was recognized very early in his career as one of the best in his field.
