She died trying to protect her co-workers, and now her co-workers are honoring Amanda Connors.
Connors, the manager of Cost Cutters on 41st Street, was shot and killed by 38-year-old Tyrone Smith back in September.
On Monday, Cost Cutters is holding a Cut-A-Thon for a scholarship fund in Connors' name at the Stewarts School of Hairstyling where she trained as a stylist. Just two hours into event, the salon had already raised $900.
It goes until 4 p.m. at the Cost Cutters on 41st Street. The cost is a $10 donation, which will go to the scholarship fund.
