Officials with the Custer School District are meeting with parents of Fairburn School students to discuss the possibility of closing the rural school.
The school 12 miles from Hermosa currently has just 12 students.
Custer School Superintendent Scott Lepke says the district is considering the closure as a cost cutting measure due to cuts in state education funding.
Custer School District has three elementary schools outside of the city of Custer - Hermosa, Fairburn and Spring Creek.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. MDT.
