In the last week, KELOLAND has dealt with April storms; blizzards and hail on Monday, followed by west river snow on Wednesday and winter storm warnings Thursday and Friday. As we brace for more snow, other parts of the country, are expecting dangerous, severe weather.
The same system that is bringing winter storms here, is giving the south chances for high winds, hail, and tornadoes. This warm sector of this system, combined with a cold front that will move across the area, will strike up some severe storms that will have some dangerous weather.
This system has already spiked up some severe weather in Kansas and Missouri on Wednesday. Reports are three sightings of tornadoes, six reports of high damaging winds, and over 125 reports of hail with some of those reported hailstones as large as golf balls that shattered car windows.
KELOLAND may still be dealing with Old Man Winter but it will only be a matter of time before we see severe weather this far north.
