BRANDON, SD -
Two people are in the hospital Sunday night, after a car accident that mangled the vehicle.
It happened just after dark Sunday, five miles south of Brandon near the South Dakota-Iowa border.
A car was going south on Highway 115. Highway Patrol says it missed a curve, ran off the road into a farmyard, and smashed into a large tree.
Two people were in the car. One was airlifted to the hospital, and the other was taken away in an ambulance. Officials haven't released their conditions.
Two sets of rumble strips on Highway 115 warn drivers of the sharp curve, and signs recommend driving 10 an hour.
Authorities rerouted traffic around the accident. Highway Patrol is still investigating.
