Coyote faithful all over the country are cheering as the USD women cut down the nets as champions of the Summit League tournament.
Even at points during the game when USD and Denver were close, the fans never stopped cheering for their Coyotes and they were able to cheer their team onto the NCAA tournament.
"It was so exciting! We came out and kicked some butt; it was a great ending to a great season," USD fan Marc Murtha said.
"I was really excited about it; it was amazing watching them. I love how all of us came together and got really excited and pumped up and I think that really helped them," USD fan Megan Kroeger said.
For some of their fans, a trip to the big dance is a long time coming.
"It's exciting. It's exciting to see. A long time waiting, the transition period to finally get rewarded with a big moment like this. To get their moment on the stage; to get the recognition. I'm really excited for the girls," USD fan Jason Bures said.
Coming into the tournament as a big underdog gave some of the fans concern, but the end result is what they'll remember.
"I really wanted them to, but I kind of had a few doubts here and there. After yesterday, I was sure they could do it though," Kroeger said.
"Fortunately for us this weekend, the team that we all knew could be showed up for three straight games," Bures said.
Now, the team and the fans wait for next Monday when they find out their tournament placement.
"I'm curious to see where they end up and see if we can round together some Red and get down there and support them," Bures said.
From the USD President on down to all the fans in the Arena, it was a home crowd for the Coyotes as the USD women carry a wave of momentum to the Summit League crown.
