Court Documents Detail Deadly Crash

Court Documents Detail Deadly Crash
She's arrested and charged with causing a deadly school bus accident, but authorities don't know who she is.

Immigration officials now say Alianiss Morales is a fake name and the woman pictured is an illegal immigrant. Friday she was officially charged with four counts of criminal vehicular homicide, a stop sign violation and one charge of driving without a license.

One of the statements is from the driver of the Lakeview school bus. He says he'd just turned to go South on Highway 23 and was going about 50 miles an hour when he saw the van driven by the 23 year old, who claims to be Alianiss Morales. He says she sped through a stop sign on County Road 24 and hit his bus causing it to tip over onto a pick-up truck that was driving north on Highway 23.

Court papers filed Friday lay out the details of the deadly school bus accident.

A statement from 53 year old Dennis Deveraux, the driver of the school bus, says he saw the van driving "way too fast." He estimated it was going 45 to 55 miles an hour. Deveraux says he didn't have time to speed the bus up or slow it down to avoid an accident. Deveraux told troopers he saw the van go airborne after it hit the railroad tracks near the intersection. That's when the van hit the bus ripping off the back axle.

That back wheel-well is where nine year old Hunter Javens and nine year old Emilee Olson, who died in the crash, were sitting. The other two students who lost their lives, 13 year old Jesse Javens and 12 year old Reed Stevens were also sitting in back.

A driver two cars behind the bus also said he saw the van run the stop sign and hit the school bus.

However, the woman who claims to be Alianiss Morales told troopers through an interpreter that she did stop for the stop sign. She was on her way to work at a cabinet shop in Cottonwood. The 23-year-old says it was the first time she'd driven on County Road 24 and claims the bus hit her.

Friday night she sits in a Lyon County Jail accused of vehicular homicide.

The 23 year old illegal immigrant says she was driving her boyfriend's van at the time of the accident.

Three students died at the scene of the crash. One died in hours following the accident.
