Court Appearance Scheduled For Man Accused Of Rape

The former Walworth County State's Attorney is expected to appear in court Thursday afternoon on child rape charges.

Three counts of first degree rape were filed against 34-year-old Christopher Jansen on Wednesday.  Court paperwork shows Jansen is accused of committing three acts of first degree rape against three child victims under the age of 13 years old in the Blunt area.

Jansen was arrested on Tuesday afternoon but many of the documents in the case have been sealed.  What we know at this is point is that the crimes are alleged to have happened in Hughes County and that the victims are children.

Jansen's first court appearance is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. in Pierre.

If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
