A Lead couple in the antique business is working to restore one of the city's historic churches to its original form.
Randall and Beverly Havlik have wanted to fix up the circa-1887 church on the corner of Wall and Addie streets for more than 10 years.
Randall Havlik said the deteriorating building has been sitting on a crumbling foundation, and he thought it might not be able to be saved. He found a contractor who was able to stabilize it.
Havlik says the 3,200-square-foot building is a beautiful structure and it'd be a shame to have it gone. He says his wife's dream is to restore it into a residence, possibly for the couple.
