Couple Arrested When Police Find Kids Alone In Car
Nathan Ostermeier | Betsy Hanson

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A Dell Rapids couple is in jail after police say they left their three children outside in a car while they gambled at a Sioux Falls casino.

Police were called to Deuces Casino on North West Avenue around 1 a.m.  When they arrived, a five-year-old girl was screaming.  Her seven-year-old and eight-month old sisters were asleep inside a car.  Police went inside and arrested 26-year-old Betsy Hanson for three counts of abuse and neglect of a child.

In addition to abuse charges, 29-year-old Nathan Ostermeier is accused of having meth.

They're both expected in court Tuesday afternoon.
