Council To Choose Events Center Location

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls City Council is scheduled to vote on a location for the proposed events center at its meeting Monday night.

They will choose between a location in Downtown Sioux Falls near Cherapa Place or near the existing Arena and Convention Center.

Members began showing where they stand on the location during a work session in May and appear to be split on the location. If the vote is tied, Mayor Mike Huether says he's prepared to cast the deciding vote.

Once the decision is made, the next two months will be spent figuring out how to pay for the venue and preparing a resolution for a public vote in November.
