Cooler Temps Greeting S. Dakota Travelers

Chillier temperatures are greeting South Dakotans returning home after a long holiday weekend away.

While some areas of South Dakota saw near-record highs on the days leading up to Thanksgiving, temperatures have dropped significantly over the past few days into the teens.

But the skies have remained clear in the state, making for easy travel for people arriving and departing South Dakota's largest airport in Sioux Falls.

Seventy-two-year-old Chuck Dominy is thankful for the clear weather. The Fairfax, Va., resident arrived in Sioux Falls on Sunday to pheasant hunt with several friends in Kimball.

Dominy, a contractor with the Department of Defense, says he was surprised he had little problems flying through Chicago.

"As long as you don't have snow, ice or fog, you're good," Dominy said.
