Continuing McGovern's Legacy Of Giving

October 26, 2012, 9:35 PM by Sammi Bjelland

Continuing McGovern's Legacy Of Giving
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Even after death, George McGovern's legacy of giving to those in need is being carried on.

In lieu of flowers, the McGovern family has requested making donations to Feeding South Dakota in his honor. McGovern was an active advocate for feeding those in need throughout his life.

Feeding South Dakota Executive Director Matt Gassen believes even though the Senator is no longer with us, his works can be carried on by the community.

"If we all step it up just a little bit, then together maybe we are the next George McGovern as a nation, as opposed to an individual," Gassen said.
