Organizers say construction is behind schedule for a plant near the central South Dakota town of Harrold that will process pulse crops such as lentils, field peas and chickpeas.
The 11,000-square-foot, $4.5 million South Dakota Pulse Processors plant was expected to start operations in the spring.
A report from the company states that most work has been on hold for the winter and workers will be resuming construction in early spring. Organizers hope the plant will be up and running by the fall.
The plant is expected to employ about ten people.
