It's a long day for many construction crews in KELOLAND as they work through the heat and humidity. One crew from Rallis Construction lives by one phrase when the temperature rises.
"Start working early, quite early,” Dusty Rallis said.
Rallis, the owner of Rallis Construction keeps an eye on his crew making sure the weather doesn't overcome them.
"Drink plenty of water, try to keep the caffeine down to a minimum," Rallis said, "if it gets real hot out maybe eat some salt tablets."
Damon DelVecchio is the owner of Custom Cut Builder's. He tries to keep the crew in the shade during the hottest part of the year.
"It gets tough, but we try to get under the shade so that's why we came up from today to be in the shade. The sun will be out back," DelVecchio said.
To keep from getting heat related illnesses, you should take plenty of breaks, drink water often, and wear loose, light clothing. If you get heat related illness, call a doctor immediately.
