Construction At I-229 & 10th St. This Weekend

September 28, 2012, 4:49 PM by Kelly Bartnick

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

A detour is closing parts of the I-229 and East 10th Street overpass this weekend.

After Friday's rush hour commute settles down, crews will close left turn lanes at I-229 and 10th Street for a chip-sealing project.  They will work on all turning lanes throughout the weekend. The project is one of the final phases in a summer-long I-229 maintenance project.

"The 10th Street portion is probably the most intensive part of the project and it is also the last portion that needs to be completed," Travis Dressen with South Dakota Department of Transportation said.

Detours will be posted all weekend. The ramps should reopen by 6 a.m. Monday morning.
