Rapid City did receive some snow, but was missed by the brunt of this latest blizzard. That's not the case for all of western South Dakota.
Rapid City received around an inch of snow. Roads in the city are open but icy in spots.
About 50 miles east of Rapid City, Interstate 90 is closed between Wall and Sioux Falls. That's due to heavier snowfall and strong winds, which are having an impact on driver visibility and drifting.
West of Rapid City, there is also a considerably more snow in the Black Hills. Parts of the Northern Hills between Lead/Deadwood and Spearfish are reporting more than a foot of snow. That's good news people hoping to enjoy skiing and snowmobiling this coming President's Day weekend.
