The Flandreau Community Center has a new name. The building was renamed in honor of former South Dakota Governor and US Representative Bill Janklow during a dedication ceremony Friday Morning.
Janklow grew up in Flandreau and died back in January after a battle with brain cancer.
Flandreau officials proposed a name change soon after, and chose Friday as the dedication date after consulting with Janklow's family. Janklow had a hand in other Flandreau centers as well; the city's aquatic center was funded in part by a grant approved by Janklow.
We have a news crew in Flandreau and will bring you the full story tonight on KELOLAND News
