From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, volunteers will be in front of KELO-TV's studios, 501 S. Phillips Avenue, to collect items for the Family Visitation Center.
The facility is a safe place for kids to reconnect with family members for various sorts of reasons. For years, the Family Visitation Center in downtown Sioux Falls has been helping families and children.
More than 3,000 children have benefited from having a place where they can create positive memories with a parent. The mission of the Family visitation center is to put children first.
The center focuses its programs to ensure the safety and well-being of children when they are caught in the middle of different issues, like divorce, domestic violence, substance abuse or child abuse. The organization reconnects families in a peaceful environment.
Aaron Wimmer, the executive director at Family Visitation Center tells KELOLAND This Morning the donations will help the more than 700 kids that walk through the doors for FVC services.
