The woman accused of driving drunk and running over a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper last year will be in court Friday afternoon.
26-year-old Rachel Coleman is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer.
Coleman is accused of running over Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew Steen in the parking lot of a southern Sioux Falls strip mall.
Coleman then led authorities on a chase and when they pulled into the parking lot, Steen got out of his vehicle and investigators say Coleman ran him over.
Steen survived the crash and was named Trooper of the Year in June to honor him for his service.
Coleman is scheduled for a motions hearing as she prepares to go to trial for the incident on Friday.
