Clock On SD's Brown County Courthouse Broken
February 24, 2011, 8:13 AM
ABERDEEN, SD -
The best-known timepiece in South Dakota's Brown County is frozen in time, and it has nothing to do with the cold weather.
The clock atop the County Courthouse was turned off at 4:37 Monday because it isn't working properly.
Maintenance director Mick Palmer says that he's not sure what's wrong with the clock. He says he'll wait for a warmer day to climb up into the clock tower and check it out.
The courthouse with its clock tower was finished in 1904.
