The city of Sioux Falls is requesting proposals for the development of affordable housing.
In the coming year, the city will provide up to $500,000 for one or more large affordable housing projects.
The proposals are due December 5 and must be within Sioux Falls city limits.
Some of the requirements are the developments:
- Must involve construction of new units or updating and improving units into affordable housing.
- Must have households at or below 80-percent of the family's income with a goal of 30-percent.
- Must remain affordable for a minimum of 20 years.
Sioux Falls Community Development Director Darrin Smith says officials are very excited to provide the community with this opportunity.
