The Belle Fourche City Council has voted to allow the local Chamber of Commerce to stay in its present location in a city-owned building for another year.
The 7-1 vote this week is the latest development in a dispute over how the chamber operated the Center of the Nation Visitor Information Center. The city decided to remove the chamber as operator in October and ordered the chamber to vacate the building.
In the wake of that decision, Chamber President Jeff Otterman resigned and Executive Director Teresa Schanzenbach was fired by the chamber board.
Current Chamber President Fritz Carlson says the chamber is now "moving forward in a positive direction."
