A Sioux Falls bridge is reduced to one lane after a routine inspection found signs of distress Friday.
The northbound lane on the Marion Road bridge north of Maple Street is closed until crews can stabilize the structure. Stop signs are installed temporarily for northbound and southbound traffic at the bridge.
The Public Works office says the public is not in danger but are diverting traffic to the strongest side of the bridge. The structure was built in the early 1980s and is scheduled to be repaired in 2014.
Construction to repair the bridge could begin as early as next week.
