SIOUX FALLS, SD -
The city of Sioux Falls cancelled plans for a previously scheduled announcement about the Downtown River Greenway Project on Wednesday.
For more than a month, crews have been working on the $5-million project that will make the Big Sioux River the focal point of downtown instead of an after thought.
The city has big plans already. The bike trail will be widened and moved right next to the river. Also, an amphitheater will be built for summertime shows.
City leaders hope to have the project completed by August.
The city sent out a notice that the 9 a.m. event had been cancelled just after 8 a.m.
