Construction continued at a record pace though October this year.
Building permits topped $539 million from January through October 2013 in Sioux Falls.
New residential construction accounts for $226 million in permits, with a majority of the construction on new apartment buildings.
Manufacturing projects add up to $23 million, while commercial construction marked $37 million through October.
The building pace is $156 million, which is ahead of last year at this time. Commercial construction is seeing the largest gains.
