A young woman who championed her battle with cancer in hopes of inspiring the young patients at Sanford Children's Hospital, has lost her fight.
We first brought you the story of then 23-year-old Sara Javers, two-and-a-half years ago when she was undergoing chemotherapy for stage four cancer of the appendix.
As a Child Life Specialist at Sanford Children's, Javers hoped her common bond with the young patients she worked with would help them be stronger in their own battle with cancer.
After a nearly three year fight, Javers lost her own battle with cancer last Friday.
