The second day of the South Dakota Legislative Session brings yet another address for lawmakers.
The Senate will join the House of Representatives for the State of the Judiciary address which begins at 1:30 p.m.
Chief Justice David Gilbertson of the South Dakota Supreme Court will address the body on different issues facing the current criminal justice system.
One of the top topics will be the criminal justice reform that Governor Dennis Daugaard introduced shortly after his speech Tuesday. South Dakota is looking at more alternative sentences for inmates and more supervision for offenders who are out in the public in an attempt to stem the skyrocketing prison population in the state.
The governor says if the no reform is done, the state would likely have to build two new prisons in the next ten years.
