Charges Pending In Fiery Weekend Crash
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Sioux Falls police say alcohol was involved in fiery crash in southeast Sioux Falls this weekend.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday when two Ford Explorers collided at the intersection of Cook Road and Cliff Avenue, which is near Lincoln High School.

Police say the suspect was headed south on Cliff Avenue going about 70 miles per hour when she hit the second SUV.  The victim's vehicle was headed north and turning onto Cook road when it was hit, pushed into a power pole and started on fire.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, a 40-year-old Butte, Montana, woman, on the ground with burns to her arm and stomach.

The suspect, a 30-year-old Sioux Falls woman, was still trapped in her car and was hospitalized with injuries including a broken leg and pelvis.

Charges are pending so her name hasn't been released.
